Amana Takaful Maldives Settles Major Vessel Claim in Less Than Four Months
The claim relates to a safari vessel valued at USD 1.5 million and represents one of the largest vessel claims settled in the recent past
Amana Takaful (Maldives) PLC has completed the assessment and had disbursed the settlement of a major claim relating to a safari vessel valued for US$ 1.5 million.
The vessel was extensively damaged and submerged, after catching fire while stationed in waters near Hulhumalé. Fortunately, no passengers or crew members were injured in the incident.
The claim was assessed and concluded in a notably short period for a case of this scale and complexity. It also marks an important milestone for Amana Takaful Maldives, as one of the largest vessel claims settled during the company’s journey.
The settlement reflects the purpose at the heart of the Takaful model: supporting participants when they face unexpected losses and helping them recover from events that could otherwise have a serious financial impact.

For businesses, vessels and other major assets are more than physical property. They support daily operations, generate income and sustain livelihoods. An unexpected event can therefore affect the continuity of the entire business. Having appropriate Takaful protection helps businesses manage such risks and recover with greater confidence.
Amana Takaful Maldives remains committed to responding to claims fairly and efficiently while providing participants with the support they need during difficult circumstances. This settlement demonstrates the practical value of safeguarding business assets and interests before an unforeseen event occurs.
